Vehicle of interest in violent Kitchener home invasion investigation

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) seeking to identify vehicle in a Kitchener home break-in incident last week.

Police responded to a home on Selkirk Drive in the Block Line Road and Strasburg Road area around 11 a.m. on July 10, 2025.

Officers said a lone male suspect armed with a handgun allegedly entered the residence through a back door and was quickly confronted by two men inside.

An altercation then ensued and the suspect used an edged weapon to harm one of occupants, a 48-year-old Kitchener man, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect initially fled the scene on foot and then hopped into an awaiting vehicle.

WRPS is looking to identify that vehicle as well as the occupants who were inside it.

The suspect is described as the following:

  • Black male
  • Between 5’6” and 5’7” in height
  • Wearing a surgical mask
  • Wearing a brown hoodie with black pants, brown sunglasses
  • Had a black backpack
