Police arrest stabbing suspect in Kitchener

A Kitchener man is in handcuffs and charged with attempted murder after a stabbing over the weekend.

On Sunday, around 1:25 p.m., officers were called to the Victoria Street North and Frederick Street area of Kitchener for what they believe was a targeted stabbing.

A 49-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds and was sent to hospital.

Police describe his injuries as non-life threatening.

Waterloo regional police said the suspect, Joshua Finnamore, 38, was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with the incident.

The accused has since been arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
