A botched vehicle theft attempt in Waterloo this week has police searching for a female suspect.

According to regional police, a driver parked their truck outside a business and left it running. It didn’t take long for an unknown woman to hop into the driver’s seat and try to take off.

She didn’t get far, as she quickly crashed the vehicle into another truck at a stop sign.

According to police, she then fled the scene in an awaiting sedan, that was being driving by an unknown male.

The alleged attempted theft happened Wednesday around 5:35 p.m. in the Marsland Drive and Lexington Road area.

The police investigation continues and if you have any information, call 519-570-9777.
