Noxious substance sprayed outside bar in Uptown Waterloo

A noxious substance was sprayed at a group of people standing outside of a bar in Uptown Waterloo early Friday morning. Police believe the substance to be bear mace.

Around 2:25 a.m., regional police were called to the King Street North bar district for reports of a disturbance.

Police were informed than an unknown male approached a group and allegedly sprayed them with the noxious substance before fleeing the area.

Several people sustained minor physical injuries, some were treated on scene by paramedics, others taken to local hospital.

Regional police have released a photo of a man who may have been involved in hopes the public can help identify him.
