High-tech mini-golf coming to downtown Kitchener

When it comes to entertaining the people of Waterloo Region, few would know more than the folks at Bingemans.

Next month, a fresh and unique entertainment option is set to open in downtown Kitchener. Putt Social promises to be a high-tech mini-golf experience like no other. A blending of modern technology and the time honoured fun of mini-golf along with an innovated menu, signature craft cocktails and local brews.

Michelle Playfair, general manager at Bingemans and Putt Social, told 570 NewsRadio they’ll be located in the tannery building at 121 Charles St. Kitchener.

“We formerly had a restaurant named Grains in that space prior to the pandemic. Then the pandemic happened and we never reopened Grains so we’ve always been thinking about what we could put into that place that wasn’t just a restaurant,” he said.

Playfair said Putt Social will feature nine highly interactive holes with themes ranging from beer pong to roulette to air hockey and PLINKO. Each hole will be equipped with LED lights and state-of-the-art technology that tracks scores in real time so players no longer have to keep score manually. Playfair says that will make Putt Social fun for players of all ages and abilities.

While they will, of course, accept walk-in golfers, Putt Social will also cater to groups and private events.

Playfair said Putt Social will be a unique spot in downtown Kitchener.

“There’s really nothing downtown that speaks to this sort of fun, interactive entertainment experience so it just totally made sense,” he said.

Putt Social has yet to set an opening date but Playfair said they are hoping to be up and running in March.
