Stratford jewellery store smash-and-grab suspects arrested in Kitchener

A group of smash-and-grab jewellery store robbers from Stratford have been caught and arrested in Kitchener.

Stratford Police said it happened around 6:00, Wednesday evening, at Paris Jewellers in the Stratford Mall on Ontario Street.

They say five suspect robbed the store, leaving an employee with minor injuries.

They fled in a white Honda CRV, spotted heading east out of Stratford.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Waterloo Regional Police were sent a “be on the lookout,” or BOLO alert, about the suspect vehicle.

Less than an hour after the robbery, the OPP called Stratford Police and said the vehicle had been found at the Sunrise Centre in Kitchener, at Ottawa Street South and Fischer-Hallman Road.

Four of the five suspects were arrested, and regional police carried out a search for the fifth, but that suspect is still at large.

Stratford Police thanked OPP and WRPS, and “to the staff members and witnesses for the information provided, which led to the quick arrest of these suspects.”

570 NewsRadio has reached out to police to see if these suspects are considered to be the same suspects from two recent attempted robberies at jewellery stores in Conestoga Mall in Waterloo.
