Police respond to more than 90 collisions Wednesday morning

It’s been a snowy week in Waterloo Region and the trend continued Wednesday morning, with dozens of crashes reported with a winter weather travel advisory in effect.

Waterloo Regional Police said there were more than 90 reported collisions between 6 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

“Please remember to slow down, drive according to road conditions, and give yourself extra travel time,” reads a post on X from the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

One of those collisions occurred in Elmira and resulted in a closure on Listowel Road. A police spokesperson said a truck slid into a hydro pole and downed wires.

No injuries were reported.

Listowel Road was closed between Steffler Road and Line 86 for clean-up and repairs.
