It could be a white Christmas after all.
Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory calling for 5 to 15 centimetres of snowfall across the region.
It’s expected to begin Monday morning and last until later in the evening.
For people driving into work or out doing last-minute holiday shopping the weather authority warns of low visibility in areas of heavier snow.
That could cause difficult travel conditions and possible icy roads in some areas around the region.
The snowfall is anticipated to taper off late Monday night with the risk of freezing drizzle developing.
Conditions are expected to improved Tuesday morning.
