Hanlon closed at Hwy. 401 for overnight construction Friday

If you’re looking to drive to Guelph or Puslinch Friday night, make sure your route doesn’t include the Hanlon Expressway by Highway 401.

Construction continues for a new interchange on the Hanlon, between Wellington Road 34 and Maltby Road, as part of efforts by the Ministry of Transportation to improve Highway 6.

Girder installation on Wellington Road 34 and Highway 6 is set to take place this Friday night.

That will have the Highway 6 North ramps from Highway 401 closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

The new Midblock Interchange, Wellington Road 53 to Highway 401 will also be closed at that time.

Motorists can detour using either Brock Road or Townline Road on either end of the closure, going across Wellington Road 34.

Detour signs are up around the Wellington Road 34 and Highway 6 North area.
