Road rehabilitation coming to New Dundee Road in Kitchener

A road rehabilitation project is now underway on Kitchener’s New Dundee Road, bringing new guardrails, replaced asphalt and likely, a bit of a slow drive while the work is completed.

The Region of Waterloo said that work will see New Dundee Road brought down to one lane from Pinnacle Drive to just east of Executive Place beginning on July 15.

This phase of the rehabilitation project is expected to stretch into mid-September.

Traffic will still be maintained on New Dundee Road throughout the construction, though you’re warned that there will likely be notable delays.

Road crews will be in the impacted area directing traffic.

Traffic heading through the area during the night, and on weekends or holidays, will likely be travelling on a gravel surface.

Access to nearby properties and businesses will be maintained during construction hours, though roadwork activity could impact access to entrances at times.

It’s expected that New Dundee Road will reopen to traffic after mid-September.
