Six people are displaced after a townhouse fire on Linden Drive in Cambridge.
The fire was reported around 4:30 a.m. on Monday and crews from five stations responded to the scene.
Chief Fire Prevention Officer with the Cambridge Fire Department, Eric Yates, said seven people were inside the home when the fire broke out.
All of the individuals self-evacuated and no one was hurt. There were working smoke alarms in the home.
Six people who are residents of the townhouse are now displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross, which will put them up in a hotel for the next three days.
While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, Yates said it’s believed the fire originated on a second-floor balcony area.
It is not considered suspicious.
