Roundabout work to start on Roseville Road

Construction on a new roundabout on Roseville Road is set to start this week.

The intersection of Roseville Road and Edworthy Side Road in North Dumfries, just west of Cambridge, is set to be transformed this summer. The new roundabout also comes with improved lighting, asphalt replacement, and sewer, curb and gutter installation.

The work will have crews in the area for about five months, through to November of this year.

As far as traffic impacts go, the full intersection will be shut down on Wednesday, June 17. Motorists will have to detour using Whistle Bare Road and Dickie Settlement Road during that one-day closure.

There will also be one week of westbound restrictions on Roseville Road for storm sewer work later on in the summer.

A full construction schedule can be found here.

The goal of the project is to improve safety and traffic flow through that stretch.

Public engagement on the plan began three years ago, in 2023. It’s all set to ring in around $4 million.
