Cleanup continues around Waterloo Region after winter storm

Snow plows were busy on Saturday morning clearing the snow after a winter storm on Friday night.
Environment Canada meteorologist Rob Kuhn reported on social media that 13 cm of snow fell in Stanley Park in Kitchener. He said that around 11 p.m. the snow turned to occasional rain and wet snow.
The winter storm warning that was in effect for Waterloo Region was dropped around 11:30 p.m. on Friday.
Waterloo Regional Police told CityNews 570 that they responded to 39 crashes between 6 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. In two of those collisions, injuries were reported.
CityNews Meteorologist Jessie Uppal is reporting that more snow is possible on Saturday and that it will likely be windy as well. The snow will continue on Sunday and temperatures will continue to drop through the weekend.
Due to the conditions, the Waterloo Region District School Board cancelled all of its elementary in-person international and indigenous language programs for Saturday.
The Waterloo Region Catholic District School Board cancelled all of its St. Louis adult and continuing education programs for Saturday.
Parking bans are in place on Saturday in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge as crews clean up the snow.
The City of Kitchener has cancelled dominos at the Rockway Centre on Saturday. The Williamsburg Community Centre is also closed on Saturday, and Amigos at the Downtown Community Centre was cancelled.
