Hold and secure ends at St. Mary’s High School as police investigation continues (update)

St. Mary's High School in Kitchener was placed in a brief hold and secure on Monday afternoon.
In a post on social media, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board said the hold and secure was issued at 1:50 p.m. to assist with an investigation by Waterloo Regional Police. It was lifted around 2:30 p.m.
A spokesperson with the WCDSB told CityNews 570 the hold and secure was implemented as police investigated 'some sort of threat' against the school.
Police did not confirm those details, but said there's no public safety concerns and their investigation is still active and ongoing.
There continues to be an increased police presence in the Block Line Road and Lennox Lewis Way area as a result.
