Grand River Hospital dealing with COVID outbreak in stroke unit

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared in the stroke unit (5N) at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener.

Two patients recently tested positive.

The hospital says it continues to monitor the situation.

GRH has implemented enhanced protocols in 5N.

Some of those measures include cohorting staff to one unit when possible, more frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout the hospital, as well as temporarily closing admissions to the unit.
