More details have been revealed regarding a COVID-19 outbreak at Cornerstone Christian School in Wellesley.

Region of Waterloo Public Health reported the outbreak on Friday and stated it's affecting multiple cohorts.

There are seven COVID-19 cases linked to the outbreak.

Associate Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Julie Emili, confirmed the school voluntarily closed its doors on October 20.

“Public health will be working closely with the school to ensure strong infection prevention and control measures are in place before re-opening,” said an e-mail statement from Dr. Emili.

Dr. Emili also noted that connections outside of the school have played a role in the outbreak.
