Overnight road closures downtown Preston this week

The City of Cambridge has provided an update on a long-term construction project happening in the downtown core of Preston.

Late-night drivers travelling on King Street East between Eagle Street and Bishop Street will need to plan a detour.

Starting on Wednesday at 7 p.m., this stretch of King will be closed nightly until 7 a.m. through to Friday.

The city says the closure is for surface asphalt paving in the area, and the dates are weather-permitting.

Any drivers in the area are asked not to park their vehicles on the road where work is being done.

The final stage of this project is set to be complete in the fall.
