Rob Deutschmann to run for Regional Chair

A former township mayor has announced his plans to run for Regional Chair of Waterloo Region.

Former North Dumfries Mayor Rob Deutschmann says he will file his nomination form for the position Thursday afternoon.

Once that is done, there will be three candidates in the running for the job.

The other two are Former Waterloo City Councillor Jan d'Ailly and Regional Councillor Karen Redman, a former MP for Kitchener-Centre.

Any other interested parties have until July 27 to submit their nominations.
