Multiple charges for Kitchener woman following stabbing incident

A 45-year old Kitchener woman has been charged with multiple crimes following a stabbing on March 19th.

The incident in question occurred at the intersection of Weber Street East and Kinzie Avenue around 7:20am.

Emergency services responded to reports, and a 39-year old female victim was taken to an out-of-region hospital with ‘non-life-threatening’ stab wounds.

The suspect was arrested by members of the Waterloo Region Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) and was later identified by the WRPS General Investigation Unit as the suspect in question.

The female suspect was charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, and possession for a dangerous purpose; and was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
