Kitchener murder suspect claims he’ll turn himself in

A man wanted for the murder of a Kitchener woman may have surfaced online once again, claiming he’ll turn himself in.
On Tuesday, an Instagram account claiming to be Ager Hasan, the man wanted for the murder of Melinda Vasilije, posted two messages along with photos of himself and Melinda.
One of the posts said “I hope justice is served and punishment is given accordingly to what happened that night.”
A second post went on to say “I’m coming home. It’s time to end the dark path I’ve been traveling and give people the closure they deserve.”
Hasan fled to the U.S. in April immediately after his 22-year-old girlfriend was found stabbed to death in her Kitchener apartment.
Comments on the Instagram post urge Hasan to turn himself in.
Waterloo Regional Police are aware of the Instagram account claiming to be Hasan, and have been working with U.S. authorities to track him down.
