Special weather statement warns of strong wind gusts

A special weather statement has been issued for Waterloo Region and our surrounding areas.
Environment Canada warns that we may see very strong and gusty southwest winds this afternoon– with winds gusting up to 70 km/h in many areas.
The weather authority also says we could see scattered showers and the odd thunderstorm which could develop even stronger winds — with gusts of up to 90 km/h.
There will be some relief tonight though, as winds will quickly die down this evening as a cold front moves in.
The weather statement has also been issued for Erin, Mount Forest, Arthur, Northern Wellington County and Southern Wellington County.
