Three Ontario women will stay behind bars in New York on charges of assaulting a woman at the upscale W Hotel in Times Square.
The trio is beginning a second week in custody amid difficulties posting bail.
Prosecutors have also persuaded a judge to grant them more time to win an indictment.
Thirty-five-year-old Monique Boakye-Yiadom of Brampton, 26-year-old Aleesha Williams of Mississauga and 30-year-old
Amy Walker of Kitchener are charged with gang assault for allegedly acting together in the attack assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The women were arrested early last week as they drove from New York to New Jersey.
The Manhattan district attorney says the alleged victim claims Boakye-Yiadom hit her in the face with a bottle causing a black eye and deep gash.
The other two are alleged to have hit the victim with drinking glasses on the back of her head, causing bruising and cuts.
The woman, originally from Stamford, Connecticut, needed 36 stitches to close a nasty gash to her face.
Lawyer Natasha Lapiner-Giresi, who represents Boakye-Yiadom, says her client is adamant she did nothing wrong.
