An average construction season in the region

It may seem like there are more construction spots this season, but it’s about average compared to summers past.
Maybe it’s all the detours, or the excessive heat, but the Region’s Manager of Transportation and Engineering says there are the same amount of construction spots as usual.
Bob Henderson says there are a number of spots around Waterloo Region that are tying things up, including work on Hespeler road in Cambridge, Fischer Hallman in Kitchener, and at Bridge and King in Waterloo.
He says the majority is ongoing rehabilitation work, and understands it’s frustrating, but says, “it’s a fact of life.”
One good thing about the heat: no rain means workers can do their jobs uninterrupted. They are about three to four weeks ahead of schedule on the Homer Watson – Block Line roundabout.
