Rangers launch ticket program to support local organizations

Community organizations throughout Kitchener will now have more access to make memories at Kitchener Rangers games, as the team and its not-for-profit organization, have announced a new program.

Rangers Reach, announced in a press release on Tuesday, the new Community Builders Program will be “dedicated to creating greater access to Rangers hockey and bringing people together through shared experiences at The Aud.”

As per the team’s announcement, four local founding partners have invested in four season-long seats to every Kitchener Rangers home game at The Aud for the 2026-2027 OHL season.

The 16 seats will be available for community groups that may otherwise not have the opportunity to attend a Kitchener Rangers game due to ticket access or general accessibility concerns.

The program’s seats are supported by MTE Consultants, Roberts Onsite, Allan Bush Investment Team, and CUPE 1883 & 1656, the region’s public service workers.

The program will provide “over 500 opportunities” for community organizations to bring together volunteers or ambassadors, or “to provide a memorable experience for the youth, families and individuals they serve.”

According to Rangers Reach, the initiative is open to registered charities, non-profits or other community organizations in Waterloo Region. These organizations’ missions must be to make a meaningful impact in the community, with the following examples provided by the team:

  • Deliver youth and family programming
  • Provide crisis and emergency support services, including addressing food security and homelessness
  • Support seniors, newcomers, people with disabilities, and Indigenous and racialized communities
  • Deliver arts, culture, and education programming
  • Connect people to services
  • Build volunteer capacity across the region

The organization said in the release it would prefer organizations to “benefit those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend a Rangers game.” Specifically, it encourages community groups to select, “Beneficiaries who may face barriers to experiencing Rangers hockey, or whose wellbeing would benefit from attending.”

The Rangers and Rangers Reach say Community Builders tickets will be ineligible for organizational fundraising, such as auctions or raffle prizes. They are also ineligible for resale, with both Rangers organizations saying groups found to be reselling will be banned from the program in future.
