North Dumfries’ Canada Day fireworks now Aug. 22

After the massive July 1 storm that saw the cancellation of fireworks celebrations due to public safety concerns, Saturday will finally see North Dumfries showcase their festive fireworks celebration.

The Township of North Dumfries has announced that their re-scheduled Canada Day fireworks will be used as part of their ‘Last Blast of Summer’ party on August 22. The event will take place Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. and organizers say it will feature a variety of entertainment for all ages.

The event will feature live musical performances, as young ones participate in “backyard games” outside at Cowan Park. The event is advertised to have a variety of ice cream and cool treats to beat the summer heat.

The township promises the excitement of the event will make it “an evening to celebrate the season with neighbours, friends, and family before summer slips away.”
