Construction worker assaulted, truck stolen in Kitchener

Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a construction worker and stole a pick-up truck in Kitchener.

Officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) responded to a construction site in the Fischer-Hallman Rd. area on Tuesday afternoon.

Police learned an unknown man walked up to one of the construction workers and assaulted him with a weapon.

The 27-year-old victim from Oxford County sustained minor injuries.

The suspect fled in a vehicle that was stolen from the scene, described as a white 2021 Ram TRX pick-up truck.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact them, including drivers with dash cam footage from the area between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday.
