Guelph police investigating altercation that left man injured

A call about an injured man in downtown Guelph has police looking for answers.

Officers responded to the Macdonell St. area around 4:50 a.m. on Friday as a man was found with a laceration on his chest.

The victim was transported to a Hamilton trauma centre. His injuries are described as being non-life-threatening.

The man told police he had been involved in an altercation outside a business near Wyndham St. and Cork St.

Guelph police are trying to figure out who was involved and are asking anyone with information to call Detective Sgt. Brandon MacKenzie at 519-824-1212, ext. 7202 or email bmackenzie@guelphpolice.ca.
