The Kitchener Rangers remain undefeated in the 2026 OHL Playoffs, as they defeated the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-1 on Friday Night.
The Blueshirts’ third line offense was the story, as Haeden Ellis scored two goals, one of which was his first career OHL playoff goal. He was assisted on both goals by the duo of Alexander Bilecki and Gabe Chiarot.
Ellis was the only Ranger able to beat Greyhounds’ goalie Carter George, as he stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced on the night.
The Greyhounds offense was the story of the third period, as they outshot Kitchener 15-4 and beat Christian Kirsch with a Quinn McKenzie goal at the 6 minute mark. The Rangers stood tall though, with a Sam O’Reilly empty netter rounding out the final 3-1 score.
The win gives the Rangers a perfect 5-0 record to start the playoffs, as they shift gears to Sunday which will see them defend home ice at the Aud once again. Puck drop at the Aud for Sunday night’s contest will take place at 7:00PM.
