It’s the sweetest time of the year, and a sign of spring: The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival starts Saturday.
The annual festival brings up to 80,000 people to the township every year, recognized internationally for its size and scope. It’s already in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest one-day maple syrup festival.
Steve Dressing is part of the festival committee and spoke on The Mike Farwell Show on 570 NewsRadio.
“We get to really highlight and promote so many amazing local artists, local businesses, and vendors, and really find our roots in Elmira and help share that with the entire Waterloo Region and beyond. We have people coming in from all over.”
All the money raised on Saturday will go right back into the local community, through community grants.
Last year alone, Dressing said over $68,000 was brought in.
