Winner announced in record-breaking Rangers Reach Jackpot

A big win for one local woman, and for the Waterloo Region community.

Rangers Reach has announced Melissa from Waterloo as the winner of its record-breaking 50/50 Jackpot.

The prize also gives back to numerous Rangers Reach initiatives across the community, including one-time grants, funding commitments, player-led initiatives, and community scholarships.

This year though, the impact will be even more significant, with a whopping $149,540 raised.

The nearly $150,000 jackpot is an Ontario Hockey League record.

And the icing on the cake? Melissa bought her winning ticket back on Sunday, Mar. 1 when the Kitchener Rangers defeated rivals London Knights 5-1.

There are still 50/50 prizes up for grabs as the Blueshirts make their playoff run starting Friday.
