77-year-old from Guelph dead in Cambridge crash

Regional police are investigating a crash that killed a passenger in one of the two vehicles that collided in Cambridge.

Officials said in a press released they were called to the intersection of Maple Grove and Speedsville roads at around 11:40 a.m. Just as the snow started coming down across the region.

A white Hino truck and a silver Subaru hatchback crashed, police described. The Guelph driver in the Subaru, an 81-year-old man, was sent to a local hospital. His passenger, a 77-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 50-year-old Kitchener man, had no injuries.

Maple Grove Road between Boxwood Drive and Speedsville Road reopened just after 4:30 Friday afternoon.
