Rangers win streak ends in road loss to Windsor

The Windsor Spitfires handed the Kitchener Rangers just their second regulation loss of 2026 on Sunday night.

Spitfires forward Caden Harvey found the back of the net twice in a 5-2 Windsor win over Kitchener.

Post game interview with Rangers Captain Cameron Reid

Speaking during the post-game with 570 NewsRadio, Kitchener Rangers Head Coach Jussi Ahokas said he felt the Spitfires wanted the win more than his team.

“I thought we had our chances to score more than two goals; it was a tight game, but we gave up way too many chances – like, defensively and puck management-wise, sloppy turnovers… and then just d-zone battles: we should have been better,” said Ahokas. “The fact was, they wanted it more. We were a little bit unpleasant, and they really came out, and they did their best.”

“I thought we weren’t on our best tonight so, it happens, but we have to learn from this.”

With the win, the Spitfires pulled within 7 points of the Rangers for top spot in the Western Conference.

There are only five games left in the regular season, and the Rangers return to the ice on Friday for a game against the Owen Sound Attack at The Aud.
