Kitchener man facing multiple charges following string of shoplifting incidents

A Kitchener man is facing 10 theft charges in connection to a string of shoplifting incidents that occurred earlier this year.

Between Jan. 26 and Feb. 28 police received multiple reports of a male suspect entering stores in the Laurentian Hills area of Kitchener and taking merchandise.

An investigation was launched, with police seeking assistance in finding the suspect. The suspect was located on the afternoon of Mar. 6 on Strasburg Road and safely placed under arrest.

A 31-year-old Kitchener man is now facing 10 charges of theft over $5,000. He has been held for a bail hearing.

Police have said they anticipate additional charges in the future, and that the investigation is still ongoing.
