Kitchener Rangers take over downtown Kitchener again this March Break

People can watch and meet the Kitchener Rangers this March Break.

The Blueshirts are once again taking over Carl Zehr Square for the second annual Downtown Showdown.

The afternoon of Rangers-mania will be held on Wednesday, March 18, from noon to 5 p.m.

Highlights include the popular 3-on-3 road hockey tournament with six short games featuring the Kitchener Rangers players themselves. Those players will be signing autographs all day long.

Tex will also, of course, be in attendance.

Kitchener Rangers Chief Operating Officer Joe Birch said they knew they had to bring the event back after it was such a success last year.

“Everyone in our organization from the business staff to the players could not be more excited to be a part of this day,” said Birch.

“Being a community-owned team means a lot to us, so we are always looking for ways for our players to interact with fans around the city.”

The event will also feature free activities, drinks and an opportunity to see the city’s first electric Zamboni.

If it’s cold enough, the ice rink in front of city hall will also be open.
