Kitchener Rangers set to face streaking Storm

The Kitchener Rangers are set to continue their season series against the Guelph Storm on Wednesday night, hoping to extend their winning streak to three games.

The Blueshirts come into Wednesday’s contest fresh off of an impressive 3-1 win in Erie against the Otters on Saturday, where they scored three goals on the power play.

Looking at the standings, the Rangers have a significant edge over the Storm, with the team from Kitchener leading the Western Conference with 84 points while Guelph sits on 56 points.

The Rangers have won five of their six games against Guelph so far this season, and are poised to match last year’s season series record against the Storm of 7-1-0-0.

To their credit, the Storm are on an impressive four-game winning streak, and are coming off a big 8-5 win over the Spirit in Saginaw, which included a four-goal game from Leafs prospect and Guelph centreman Tyler Hopkins.

After the trip to the Royal City, the Rangers return home for a pair of games at The Aud this weekend, including a game against Brampton on Friday and a Sunday afternoon tilt against the London Knights.
