Fake gun, real charges after weapons call in Cambridge

A man has been arrested for allegedly pointing what appeared to be a gun at a victim in Cambridge.

Officers from Waterloo Regional Police Service were called out to the area of King Street East and Argyle Street, shortly before 11, on Monday night.

Reports had come in about a male brandishing a firearm at a victim.

Police said officers found the suspect and put him into handcuffs without incident.

The weapon turned out to be an imitation firearm.

Officials said no one was hurt.

A 23-year-old Cambridge man was charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and pointing a firearm.
