Suspects arrested in connection to January shooting in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two Kitchener men believed to be behind a shooting in Kitchener, last month.

Back on Jan. 28, WRPS were called to the Scott St. and King St. E. area of Kitchener on reports of a shooting.

A 30-year-old Kitchener man was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police believed it was a targeted shooting.

WRPS said officers executed two search warrants in Kitchener on Feb. 10, arresting two men in the process.

A 25-year-old Kitchener man was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Aggravated assault and robbery with a firearm.

A 28-year-old Kitchener man was charged with:

  • Careless use of firearm
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Point firearm
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of firearm or weapon contrary to prohibition order (two counts)
  • Discharge firearm with intent
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Aggravated assault
  • Robbery with a firearm

Both men were held pending a bail hearing.
