Officers looking to identify fake PSW in Kitchener

Waterloo regional police are asking the public for help identifying a suspicious person.

Back on Nov. 24, 2025 an elderly Kitchener resident allowed an unknown woman into their building. The person claimed to be a personal support worker (PSW) who had been sent by the resident’s care provider.

The woman did provide some support services for the resident, but at the end, asked for a cash payment.

Police began looking into the case and determined the woman was not employed by the resident’s care provider.

Investigators are now looking to identify the woman.

Information can be directed to the Waterloo Regional Police Service at 519-570-9777, extension 8792.

Anonymous information can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑8477 or www.waterloocrimestoppers.com.
