Smoke alarms and sirens were heard in a Kitchener neighbourhood on Tuesday morning as crews were called out to a house fire in the Strasburg Road and Ottawa Street South area.
The fire was primarily in the second-floor bedroom of a semi-detached house on Roberts Crescent just off Kingswood Drive.
Damage is estimated at around $100,000 with no structural concerns to the building, and no damage to the semi-detached unit beside the home.
However, the two people living at the home won’t be able to move back in until the room is restored.

The two individuals were able to get out of the home in time and were not injured thanks to working smoke alarms, according to officials.
The cause of the fire has not been released, though officials are not treating it as suspicious.
