WRPS investigating string of ‘connected’ break-ins in Kitchener

By Justin Koehler

A bit of ‘Bah Humbug’ right ahead of Christmas, as Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is investigating a string of potentially connected break-ins across Kitchener.

Officers said that, in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, Dec. 20, they were called about multiple break-ins, centred around the area of Victoria Street North and Forwell Road.

Those incidents are mainly centred around commercial properties in that stretch, with WRPS saying the suspects were able to gain entry by tampering with the locking mechanisms on the front doors of each location.

They then gained entry and are said to have taken cash and other small electronic devices before exiting the building and fleeing the scene.

As of now, no details have been provided on the number of potential suspects or their descriptions involved in those break-ins, leading police to reach out to the public for assistance.

WRPS is asking that anyone with details on the string of incidents give them a call at 519-570-9777 or provide information anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
