Suspect arrested in Kitchener robbery after fleeing on e-scooter

One suspect has been arrested following an early morning robbery at a commercial business in Kitchener on Dec. 22.

WRPS sais around 4:30 a.m. officers responded to a business in the area of Westforest Trail and Highland Road West.

Through theinvestigation, police say a suspect went into the business and allegedly threatened a victim with a spray canister while demanding merchandise.

The suspect then fled the scene on a dark coloured e-scooter.

Later that morning, around 10:50 a.m., police arrested a 39-year-old man from Kitchener. They say he is a suspect of six robberies across Kitchener and Waterloo.

A search warrant was completed at the suspect’s home that evening and the stolen merchandise was recovered.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing.
