Your Kitchener Rangers are up in the Soo for the second game of a five-game road trip on Wednesday night, looking to extend their winning streak to four in a row.
The Greyhounds have been on a tear across the OHL in recent weeks, and have scored 18 goals in their last two games, both wins.
In order to strengthen their line-up this season, the Greyhounds have made a trade for the captain of the Sarnia Sting, Lukas Fischer. The 19-year-old defender was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and has 18 points so far this season.
Wednesday’s game will be the last of this road trip for Rangers defenceman Cameron Reid and goaltender Christian Kirsch as the pair head off to World Junior Championships camps. Reid was selected to take part in the Team Canada WJC training camp in Niagara, and Kirsch was shortlisted to the preliminary squad to represent Switzerland in the tournament.
The Rangers are coming off a 5-4 win against the Guelph Storm on Sunday afternoon.
