Chicopee Ski Hill hopes to open before Christmas

The late November snowstorm might not have been welcome news for drivers, but it had local ski resorts celebrating.

Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort announced it is looking to open its 91st season by Dec. 20, about a week earlier than last year.

A social media post said staff are working on the “finishing touches” for the season.

Already, skiers and snowboarders can pick up season passes, access cards and lesson tags.

Sharpen and wax services are already running.

Outside of Waterloo Region, Mount St. Louis Moonstone and Horseshoe Valley Resort, in the Barrie area, are set to open Dec. 5.

Blue Mountain plans to open on Dec. 11.

Snow Valley skiing and boarding begins on Dec. 12.
