Kitchener women charged for assault, confinement in targeted incident

Two women have been arrested and charged for confining and assaulting another woman in what police consider to be a targeted incident.

Officers from the Waterloo Regional Police Service were called out just after 11:30, Wednesday morning, for reports of a disturbance around Victoria Street North and Forfar Avenue, near the expressway.

Police said there had been some kind of dispute, and several people had confined and assaulted a 36-year-old woman.

She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Police said two women from Kitchener, 27 and 32 years old, were charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and forcible confinement.

And police said the accused and the victim know each other.
