OPP pullover in Kitchener nabs wanted man behind the wheel

A routine pullover on Highway 8 in Kitchener ended with a wanted man in handcuffs.

A social media post from Monday afternoon from the OPP’s Highway Safety Division explained what happened when a silver pick-up truck was stopped.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in the post the pullover happened on Highway 8 near the Fairway Road exit, with a 33-year-old man from Wellington County driving.

Police said he was charged with three counts of violating a suspension against driving.

It turns out he was also wanted by another police service, but police did not specify which service.

The driver was arrested and the pick-up was hauled away on a flatbed tow truck.
