30 empty beer cans found in Guelph speeder’s vehicle

A Guelph driver was allegedly caught not only going four times over the speed limit on a city street, but also having a back seat littered with empty beer cans.

Guelph Police said the 1 a.m. Saturday’s pullover happened on Stone Road East near Victoria Road South.

The 21-year-old driver from Guelph was allegedly doing 161 km/h in a 40 zone.

Police said officers could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath, and his blood alcohol content was barely inside the legal limit.

Officers also said they found more than 30 empty beer cans in the back seat and a cannabis pipe.

The charges include speeding and stunt driving, and his driver’s licence was seized for 72 hours for the alcohol content in his blood.
