‘Abundance of alcohol’: 18-year-old charged with drunk driving

A young driver from Arthur, Ont., faces a long list of charges after being stopped by police.
Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said an abundance of alcohol was found inside a pick-up truck driving north-west of Elora.
Saturday night, around 9:30 p.m., officers in the area stopped the truck, which was reportedly racing across Wellington Road 17 in Mapleton Township.
Once pulled over, alcohol was discovered inside the vehicle, and the driver was said to be over the legal alcohol limit.
The 18-year-old is charged with:
- Young driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
- Drive with windshield coated – view obstruction
- Entire plate not plainly visible
- Improper mudguards
They have also had their licence suspended for a month and their truck impounded for two weeks.
