Multiple people sprayed with noxious substance in Kitchener: WRPS

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is investigating after a noxious substance was reportedly sprayed at multiple people in Kitchener.

Officers say it happened on Friday, Oct. 17, in the area of Weber Street East and Montgomery Road.

When officers arrived on scene, an early investigation found that an altercation had taken place in the area before a noxious substance was deployed.

Several victims suffered minor injuries and were treated on site by local paramedics. Regional police say the suspect in question still remains at large.

All parties involved are said to have known each other, leading police to believe it was a targeted incident.

Regional police are reaching out to members of the public for assistance is identifying the suspect.
