It wasn’t the end to the season Rangers fans were after, but it was still proof the Blueshirts won’t go down without a fight.
The Rangers were on the back foot at the end of the first, with the Attack up by two, scoring the second goal scored with just two seconds left in the period.
The East Avenue Blues would get on the board in the second, with Avery Antis putting one in the net. But the Attack didn’t ease up, scoring three more to make it 5-1 entering the third.
When Owen Sound scored again in the third to leave the Rangers with 6-1 deficit, it could seem like the game was over. But the Rangers were far from finished.
What followed was a flurry of goals from the Blueshirts, including a pair of goals from Cameron Arquette as well as an assist. Avry Anstis scored a second goal and Max Dirracolo got a season’s first. Andrew Vermeulen and Gabriel Chiarot both netted one later in the period.
The Rangers had seven youngsters in last nights game, with Cole Crawford, Logan Massimi, and Ryker Young all making their OHL debut. Evan Nicholson also got his first OHL point.
The regular season has ended with the Rangers sitting atop the Western Conference with 101 points following last nights game, and will be facing the Saginaw Spirit in the first round of the playoffs.
Playoffs will kick off Friday night at the Memorial Auditorium, puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. and you can catch all the action live on 570 NewsRadio with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
