Arrest made after ‘repeated damage’ tied to same Waterloo vehicle

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested one man after receiving reports of vandalism on a parked vehicle in a Waterloo neighbourhood.

Police originally asked the public to help them identify the unknown man caught on video around 6:00 a.m. on Sept. 20.

WRPS allege the man attended a home on Brigantine Drive in Waterloo and damaged the vehicle, which included scratches to the driver’s side door, spray paint on the driver’s side door, and a deflated rear tire.

During the investigation into the vandalism, officers found the incident was part of a larger case dating back to 2023. In that time, there has been “repeated damage” to the same vehicle, police say.

As a result, officers have now arrested and charged a 47-year-old man from Kitchener. He is facing a list of offences, including six counts of mischief under $5,000 as well as criminal harassment.

Regional police are now thanking the individuals from across the community who provided information on the ongoing case.
